Step 4 · Live
Spring
Jump far, land under control.
About Spring
A jump only counts if you can land it. Train a controlled landing, then measure your standing broad jump and chase your personal best.
- Anyone responsible can time or measure it — a parent, teammate, sibling, Glen or Jeff. Log the result yourself.
- Personal best only for now. Girls grow at different times, so beating your own best is what counts. Achievement standards come after team baseline testing.
Train
Open one skill. Tick it when you've worked it.
Stick It
Coach cues
- Swing the arms and jump off both feet
- Land soft: bend the knees and hips
- Knees point over your toes, not caving in
- Freeze for two seconds — no step, no falling back
Try for
Five jumps in a row where you hold every landing.
Why this skill?
Landing under control is what makes the jump count — and what keeps knees safe.
Prove it
Log your personal best. Achievement standards come after team baseline testing — until then, beating your own best is the goal.
